Your Political Action Committee in Motion!

On October 17th, 1620’s Political Action Committee Chair, Andrew Walsh (right) and Vice President, Steven Stewart (left) were on the move, participating in one of their local community events. They attended the Credit Union’s annual ‘Jail n’ Bail’ fundraising event in Marystown. This fun event helps raise money for great local causes each year.

Funds were raised to send several community citizens and government officials ‘to jail’ and then the same amount had to be raised to ‘bail them out’. Jeff Dwyer, MHA for Placentia West – Bellevue (middle) was among the many ‘inmates’ and 1620 helped ‘bail him out.’  This year’s event raised over $8,000 for Burin Peninsula food banks.

1620’s Political Action Committee has a mandate to focus on issues that affect working families and the industries employing Local 1620 members. You will see more of them ~ stay tuned.
