1620 Electrical Workers is a part of IBEW – International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. IBEW currently has over 84 Local Unions across Canada alone. With another 861 plus across the United States.
Formed in 1891, IBEW has earned its reputation as the oldest, largest and most professional electrical Union in the world. Members are on the job at construction sites, power plants, factories, offices, shipyards, TV studios and rail yards.
Local 1620 specifically, located in Newfoundland, Canada, has Utility and Construction members on the job across the province working with Newfoundland Power, Collier’s International, Lower Churchill Project and Outside Line Construction. Some of our construction partners currently include Locke’s Electrical, Bursey Cleaners (2010) Limited, Pennecon Industrial Limited and Safway Services Canada.
